Executive Director of Gift Planning
Virginia Commonwealth University
Doug is the executive director of gift planning for the university that includes the VCU Monroe Park Campus, the VCU MCV Campus and the VCU Massey Cancer Center.
Bio: Doug joined VCU in August 2015 as its first executive director of gift planning and brought more than 20 years of gift planning and development experience to the university. He previously worked for 10 years at the University of Virginia, initially in the U.Va. Health System development office, but soon moved to U.Va.'s Office of Gift Planning where he supported all schools and units while also serving as liaison to the health system. Doug played a significant role in U.Va. reaching its gift planning goal in the university's $3 billion campaign. He joined U.Va. from Lexis/Nexis in Charlottesville, VA where he was associate director of government relations.
Before moving to Charlottesville, Doug was vice president for development at Wayne State College in Nebraska and executive director of the Wayne State College Foundation where he moved after having served as a gubernatorial appointee as chief deputy director of the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation in Richmond. Doug previously served 5 years as national director of gift planning and deputy executive director of major gifts for a major nonprofit in Virginia Beach, he practiced law in the Virginia Tidewater area for 10 years before he began his career in gift planning.
Doug is a member of the Virginia Gift Planning Council, the Estate Planning Council of Richmond, the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and he maintains an active license with the Virginia State Bar. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration and Management from Oral Roberts University and his J.D. from the O.W. Coburn School of Law in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Devin J. Wilson

Bio: Devin Wilson joined VCU in April 2016 as project coordinator for principal giving. She previously worked for four years at the University of Richmond as administrative coordinator in the major gifts office. She holds a bachelor's of web development with a concentration in computer science from ECPI University and earned a certificate in information systems from the University of Richmond.
Thomas C. Burke (B.S.'79/E; M.P.A.'95/GPA)
Tom is executive director of the VCU Foundation and oversees general and endowed fund investment and distributions for the VCU Monroe Park campus.
Bio: Tom joined VCU in 1986 as the external relations officer for the School of Dentistry. At the School of Dentistry, Tom was responsible for fundraising activities and concluded his 13-year tenure as assistant dean for development and continuing education. In 2000, he was named executive director of the VCU Foundation. As director, Tom oversees day-to-day operations, investments and development activities. During his 30 years at VCU, he has been involved in all three of the university's capital campaigns, which have raised more than $800 million in support of university priorities.
Jane Garnet Brown

Jane Garnet directs gift planning at the MCV Foundation for the benefit of the health sciences on the VCU MCV Campus
Bio: Jane Garnet joined the MCVF in September 2016. A native of Hampton, Virginia, Jane Garnet graduated with a B.A. in History from Davidson College. She earned a master's degree in Trust and Wealth Management from Campbell University and a master's degree in Fundraising Management from Columbia University. Jane Garnet worked in wealth management before joining the development staff at Columbia University, where she served in several roles, including 3 years as the associate director of gift planning. Most recently, Jane Garnet was the director of capital giving at the Nightingale-Bamford School in New York City.
